What this is
Lowcator is a personal project that tracks prices across retailers and surfaces deals worth acting on. It’s built as an engineering experiment to see if cross-retailer price tracking is useful. We don’t sell products or process payments.
No accounts, no sign-up
There are no user accounts. You don’t create a profile, provide an email, or log in. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use the site — which pages get visited and which deals get clicks. This helps improve the project.
PostHog runs in anonymous mode. No cookies for analytics. No persistent identifier stored on your device. Analytics data isn’t linked to any individual.
Analytics requests go through our own domain (/ingest), not directly to PostHog.
Outbound links
When you click on a deal, you’re taken to the retailer’s website. Prices and availability are sourced from retailer APIs and may change — always verify at the retailer before purchasing.
Cookies
No cookies for tracking or advertising. Your browser stores your theme preference locally using localStorage. This stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Third-party services
- Clearbit — retailer logos are loaded from Clearbit’s logo API.
- Google Fonts — the Inter typeface is loaded from Google Fonts.
